For this price you can of course not expect the best surround or have the best sound card. I have to say that the pillow can sometimes cause some pain in the beginning, but after a week this goes away.ĭespite the slight disappointment of the 7.1 surround, I would still recommend this product. The pads are thick enough to prevent your ears and head from hurting after a few hours. If you just want to listen to music, you also have crystal clear sound. The microphone is clear and ensures that you can be heard clearly by other people. I like the microphone and the sound in general. This made me a bit doubtful whether I had made the right choice and not better have bought a sound card with a cheaper headset. So you can perfectly enjoy 7.1 surround with stereo headphones. ![]() What I do want to mention here is that the headset itself does not have 7.1 channels, but the sound card takes care of this. Of course you can adjust the different sound channels and the bass via the software. In games like Battlefield you do notice the surround (so I could locate a drain) but it is not always convincing. The sound sometimes comes across as a bit cardboard-like and often has a kind of reverberating effect. ![]() However, the surround disappointed me a bit. The software that you can download on the site ensures that you can use the 7.1 surround (see photo). In the beginning I thought this was a bit of a shame but now I think it's better this way because this function often gets damaged by using it a lot. The headset is very easy to use, set size, install software from the Logitech site and start gaming! What was a pity is the lack of an automatic mute function when one raises the microphone. As mentioned in the description, you can remove the ear pads and rotate the ear cups. Personally, I think the headset looks stylish. When I first took the headset out of the box, I was really happy with the design. So I don't have much to say about the delivery other than that it was perfect as usual. I was a bit surprised at the size of the box but I was happy to see that everything was very well protected. This headset is currently the fourth item I purchase from Coolblue, just like the previous items, everything was delivered on time. I personally also think the design of the headset is fantastic, the metal brackets give a feeling of sturdiness and gives more confidence in the build quality. The Logitech 430G offers the best specs for the best price in my opinion, the 7.1 surround certainly helped with this. Thanks to the handy decision aid on the Coolblue site, I eventually ended up with this headset. Like many people, I want the most without having to pay the most. The main focus of my purchase was the price. I had been looking for a nice and good headset with which I can listen to music and games and with which I can communicate with my teammates for a while. First of all, I would like to briefly mention why I chose this headset. I have owned this headset for about two weeks and have not regretted my purchase yet. Highly recommended and actually a must-have for people who are willing to pay quite a bit for a good headset that is still relatively cheap for a headset with 7.1 surround sound and with a microphone. This is one of the few headsets where you get so much for so little. This thing can have it all easily, although this does not mean that you should not be careful with your headset on purpose! ) ![]() It lasts a long time, I don't use my headsets very carefully and occasionally just throw them off my head. It is also recommended for people who like other games. The sound was breathtakingly beautiful, highly recommended for the FPS enthusiast. I was so in the game with this headset, I was shocked myself. It has been with me for about 3 weeks now and I am very pleased with it.Įxample: At the moment I play a lot of Battlefield 4. I immediately wondered if the headset was worth the price and whether it was worth buying this thing. My eyes quickly fell on the Logitech G430. I was looking for a good headset in an affordable price range. You have to wear the ear pads in for a while, they are still quite hard for the first 20 minutes. It certainly looks good, although this remains a matter of taste

Unfortunately, that screen is no longer available.īack in September, we heard whispers that the screen was sold out, and HP removed the option from the Envy 14 ordering system. If I’m not mistaken, it’s the highest contrast ratio we’ve seen on any notebook screen to date. The first time I saw that, I ran the numbers through the calculator a second time to make sure that was actually right. That works out to a contrast ratio of 1018:1. The max brightness is 331 nits, with a black level of 0.325 nits. HP’s 1600x900 Radiance display is a revelation, no way around it. But the best part of the entire package is the screen. You get used to the touchpad in the Envy, but it can be aggravating. Far too often, you move the cursor to where you want it, and when you go to click in the designated part of the touchpad, the cursor ends up on the other side of the screen. Unfortunately, HP still hasn’t figured out how to make a buttonless trackpad work. If you’ve used a unibody MacBook Pro, you know that’s a good thing. The backlit chiclet-style keyboard looks and feels nearly identical to the MacBook Pro’s keyboard. That’s a pretty common theme with the Envy 14-it’s like HP’s take on the Apple formula. It’s not quite on the level that Apple has reached with the MacBook Pro line, but it’s getting there. Overall, the industrial design is quite good, and the build quality is just as good as one could expect from an aluminum-bodied notebook. The textured aluminum on the lid has an interesting, swirled pattern, and the slightly convex palm rest is rendered in the same material. But while the lines are similar from afar, up close the Envy isn’t actually as close to the ever-popular Apple portable as it first seems. So here's the part we all know-the styling is pretty derivative of Apple’s MacBook Pro line. Unfortunately, that screen isn’t available anymore, but we’ll get to that in a bit. Inside, we find Intel’s first generation Core i5 and i7 processors, ATI’s HD 5650 graphics card, a minimum of 4GB RAM, and the best screen of any notebook on the market. And as we’ve mentioned previously, it’s a decently powerful notebook. It slots in nicely between the first gen 13” and 15” Envys, replacing both in one go and creating space for the range-topping Envy 17 we reviewed recently. ![]() ![]() The Envy 14 is part of the second generation of Envy notebooks.
